We went straight to the venue, The Bridge, and were surprised to see all the bands had arrived on time for load-in.
After a half-hour of set up, we rolled out again to hit an amazing nearby Mexican place called Guadalajara that Jenny recommended. We met up with J's gf Tes and a bunch of pals and had a delectable meal of quesos and fajitas and chalupas, etc., etc.
After that it was back to the Bridge, a very cool not-for-profit arts space that hosts live music and other events. The art and photography on the walls was inspiring and established the perfect vibe for our set.
But it was Hilarious Posters (pictured) and Wanli up first. The former were a quirky pop trio and the latter were an atmospheric but dramatic Tortoise-esque rock quartet with tense vocals.
We only had a half-hour for our set, but managed to edit the setlist down just right. Once again we were not miked, but we struck a good balance between the three instruments and rocked the crowd with a brief but fiery, down-and-dirty performance.
That night we stayed with the very accommodating Wendy and Carey, who put us up in their great house a few blocks from the venue.
In the morning it was tasty bagels at Budos, and then back on the road, this time to D.C....
